Priya Parrish is Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Impact Engine, a venture capital and private equity firm investing in companies driving positive impact in economic opportunity, environmental sustainability and health equity. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Strategy and Impact Investor in Residence at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and serves as an adviser to investment firms developing and managing impact investment strategies. Prior to joining Impact Engine, Priya served as Chief Investment Officer at Schwartz Capital Group, a single-family office investing across global markets. Previously, she was Strategy Head at Aurora Investment Management, a multibillion-dollar hedge fund, and managed development of investment products that incorporated environmental, social and governance factors (ESG) at Northern Trust Asset Management and KLD Research & Analytics. Priya holds a B.S. in Business Management from Babson College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

I was a longtime fan of Zebras Unite before becoming the first institutional member in 2020. Since then, I've served as a Board Observer, with a focus on understanding the organization's culture, goals, and needs in the coming years. I've spent my entire career developing investment firms and products that support positive social impact, and think my role as a Board Member can help with this critical inflection point. My priorities would be to:

1) help the board manage through the transition from mostly being composed of its founders by sharing what I've observed as an observer with the new members;

2) adopt effective governance practices for co-ops;

3) make introductions to potential partners and investors, especially as it relates to ZU Capital; and,

4) help make strategic decisions that best position ZU for the future. I'd be honored to represent the institutional members and be a conduit for their own opinions to be heard at the board.
